'Vava Vol, lovecraftian, traverses rough meanderings,
asperities and some unfathomable craters, with the enthusiasm of inspired
stellar wanderers.'

'Perfect eponym, ‘Future Sensing” reveals, in turn, a sensory intention, serial flip-flops, approaching the abyss, a fullness under control, cautious silences, fragile contemplation.
Emeritus practitioner of an imperial DIY, and fruit of the opacity of a historical acrapoptege for, the dazzling Vava Vol condescends to pierce and iluminate a flambouyant darkness.'

Every morning as a regular regimen I go for a 45-minute bike ride around my hood. Last week, I took these shots as an homage to autumn. Each set of photos reflects my special places where I heal and resonate with nature, especially the natural spring water creek bed which has been in these woods for decades. The hum of the electrical wires, pylons and power station conductors, of course are an exception. I just get a buzz on there! These photos are of those places. Happy Autumn!

Brand new video 'Parallel and Opposites', track 2 from my latest album 'Future Sensing' now out on YouTube! Take the Leap!
As a follow-up to the release of our Vava Vol & Zilon Lazer (1983 - 1987) Legacy Album this year on Bandcamp, Zilon and I are pleased to present the individual videos of each warehouse jam track from that album, compiled here on Vavaland for your viewing pleasure!
Every video is accompanied by its own narrative of the night it took place, how the track unfolded and other interesting anecdotes. All jam audio tracks were recorded by Zilon Lazer using his Aiwa Walkman and later mixed and mastered at his home studio.
In March 2016, I had already published Factory 2 by Vava Vol & Zilon Lazer (SOS) on YouTube and have included this video with the others.

Please welcome my new video 'The Unveiling'', Track 5 from my latest album 'Future Sensing!
Ever since my early 20's, I've been hunting and collecting vinyl, CDs and cassettes. From Montreal's infamous Dutchy's record store, New York's Lower East Side crammed basement record stores, to Amsterdam's and West Berlin's outdoor record fairs, I have slowly added vinyl, CDs and cassettes to my private collection.
In the late 70s and throughout the 80s, it was unheard of to see a young lady with a flaming red mohawk rummaging through the record bins, as this was a 'guy' thing. It was war out there for me and I was fair game! But I stood my ground. If you even dared elbow me away from my bin, you might get a stiletto heel right through the top of your Converse, no apology!
Now in the 21st century, collecting is somewhat more civilized and I don't wear stilettos nor sport a red hawk anymore. When I go out, I see more and more ladies rifling through the bins looking and leaving with stacks of vinyl, giving those 'gentlemen' serious competition for the inventory! Go ladies!
I've never left a shop or record fair empty handed. Like yesterday, I found this mint vinyl 1975 copy of 'Electronic Music by Canadian Composers - Volume 2 - New Music Series 7' just sitting there gazing up at me! What a score! I hesitate to check out how much it is worth on Discogs...
After searching online, I found this amazing 2-hour video of Volume 1 and Volume 2, released in the mid-70s. If you have the time and this is your 'cup of jo', give a listen to these groundbreaking experimental volumes by our Canadian artists!
That same day, I also found these 3 great collections, all in mint condition! The Cure, The Jesus and Mary Chain and Siouxsie & the Banshees are the foundation of my youth and my heroes of the 70s & 80s punk/alternative music & counterculture movement. Thus, I am very privileged to be the new owner of these historical box sets! Now where are my headsets....
The Cure - Join the Dots - B-Sides & Rarities (1978-2001) The Fiction Years, in a mint condition 75-page color booklet 4-Disc box set.
The Jesus and Mary Chain - The Power of Negative Thinking: B-Sides & Rarities complete with an 81-page color booklet, full sized fold out poster 4-Disc box set and more.
Siouxsie and the Banshees Upside Down, B-Sides & Rarities 4-Disc box set, a 76 page booklet with intro by Siouxsie, annotations and full lyrics for all tracks.
