The Vava Vol Mirrors Project 2025 by Montreal Artist Éric Boudreau - November 6, 2025

“The idea of gluing mirrors on my paintings came from my friend Julie who gifted me these fabulous Dollarama glue-on mirrors.

The repurposed acrylic on canvas for this painting project was one of many Vava has sent me over the years.

The preliminary sketch was done on February 25, 2025. The very first mirror glued on this painting was June 17, 2025 and the painting was completed October 7, 2025.”

Paintings of Vava Vol by Montreal Artist Éric Boudreau - October 28, 2023

Welcome to my pop-up art gallery in the woods close to where I live! Let's hear it for this series of paintings by Montréal Artist Éric Boudreau!

Self-taught mixed-media artist Éric Boudreau works in his rooftop studio apartment overlooking the Mountain and other picturesque Montreal, Quebec skyline sights.

Éric recycles and reuses all of his art supplies and has been painting for several years now. He sources self-portraits online and paints those that catch his eye, sharing their start to finish progress via his Instagram.

He began working on this featured series of my self-portraits last year and most recently completed his 'pièce de résistance', the Long Painting herein as images #1 and #6, which proudly hangs in my home at the top of the staircase.
