Farewell Autumn 2026 - October 23, 2026

As the Earth's axial tilt orbits the Sun, our North American forests prepare to hibernate in winter's soon to come chilly peace and quiet.

The carpets of leaves on the forest floor have become fodder for next spring's sprouting crocus and wildflowers, as the traditional seasons continue to transition from fall to winter.  Autumn is a truly enchanting time of the year, a harbinger of the snowy winter on its way.

As a farewell of this enchanting season, I took a spin through a rural county to capture its changing landscape.  With its  clusters of barren white-barked birch trees, rain and snow low-level nimbostratus clouds, and harvested fields of hay and cereal crops, the setting against a clear blue sky was unforgettable!
