Succubus is track 22 from my new release 'Vava Vol and Zilon Lazer - (1983 - 1987)' and is a clip from a performance '...Is Nothing Sacred' filmed live at the Sayde Bronfman Centre by videographer Paul Antoniadese at the opening of the art exhibition “Montréal Est Au Centre”. Zilon Lazer also did a one hour live painting performance the opening night.
This is a photo of The Essentials before a show at the hip Studio One club in Montreal's downtown core in June 1981.

I was already there with my friends having drinks when they walked in. Our guitar player and lead singer Mick had painted a large promo poster of the band and it was still up on the wall near the dance floor.
After grabbing drinks at the bar, Kraftwerk sat down on a bench below. As I walked over and introduced myself, I told them The Essentials was a band I was in and the poster was from a recent show at the club.
They all turned around to look up and Ralf Hutter said, "Good! Don't stop doing your music! Stay with it!"
That was a tremendously beautiful moment for me and still is!
Then they got up to dance!

'In the 1980s, the world was still living in a Cold War climate and the threat of a nuclear apocalypse was very real until the Berlin Wall came crumbling down in 1989. This was our generation, our time and this was when we, Vava and Zilon (aka ‘Sensitiv Organz’), began creating our marginal, electro-noise, outsider music. We did it for ourselves and we did it our way! ' - Vava and Zilon
Zilon and I are pleased to release our album 'Vava Vol and Zilon Lazer - 1983 - 1987'. The music in this legacy album includes two and four track cassette recordings we produced during our live performances, at our rehearsal studios and outdoor warehouse jams during those crazy wild times known as the 80s!
Zilon Lazer presents his new show 'Vandale de lüxe$$' at Le Musée des Beaux Arts de Mont-Saint-Hilaire, Québec, from February 26, 2022 to June 12, 2022. Don't miss it!
