Today, I spotted this amazing tree formation 

and immediately recognized it as the letter 'b' 

or the Rune symbol Berkana, which means

Growth, Rebirth & a Birch Tree

Nature Hike on a Summer's Afternoon - July 23 , 2020

After packing up a small lunch, I recently drove down to one of my favorite local parks for a 2 hour nature walk.  Halfway through my hike, the sky suddenly turned pitch black and rain began to beat down.  With nowhere to run but straight ahead, I made a beeline for a nearby underpass, where I discovered some cool graffiti, a madly rushing creek and shelter from the rain.  Have a look at my photos and join me on my hike!

My Mother's Photos of Jasper National Park in 1988 - July 19, 2020

Here are some special photographs taken by my mother while RVing in Jasper National Park in the Canadian Rockies with our in-laws in the summer of 1988.  These shots are of Maligne Canyon, the Athabasca Falls, the Town of Jasper from the Jasper Skytram, the wildlife along the Icefield Parkway, Big Horn Sheep in their natural environment and spectacular mountaintop views of the national park's peaks and valleys.

I remember mother always had her camera at the ready in her purse for the next available photo op and I'll never forget having to pose forever while she took her famous family group shots, which were often and many. Miss you mom!
